7.62x39 ammo. This is the standard ammo for many battle rifles throughout the world including the widely used AK-47 and SKS. Influenced by the US M1 30 Carbine and the German Mkb 42, the Russians developed the 7.62x39 cartridge during WWII and used it extensively until the mid 1970's when it was replaced by the 5.45x39 variant in the AK74. 7.62x39 ammo is still widely popular across the globe for both military and civilian use and is, to this day, still one of the most popular cartridges in the world.
